What We Do…

Three Ponds Protective Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2005, dedicated to protecting and improving the water quality of Milton Three Ponds. TPPA is comprised of dedicated volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors, work on the water-testing team and work to assist residents of Milton and Lebanon. Our Volunteer Invasive Plant Surveyors (VIPS), more commonly called “weed watchers”, check assigned areas of the Ponds for invasive species, both plants and animals and report their findings to the VIPS Coordinator to assist in determining treatment areas.

Our approach to maintaining water quality is multi-faceted. It includes supporting boat inspections, removal of invasive species, educational programs and serving as a resource to lake residents, community organizations and Town Boards. See how we do it. We have developed strong working relationships with leadership in Milton, NH and Lebanon, ME, the NH Department of Environmental Services and Maine’s Department of Environmental Protection, all of which support our various efforts. We also collaborate with the University of New Hampshire’s Lakes Lay Monitoring Program.
